Beats & Eats with Panacea

By Presto

On the brink of their upcoming album, A Mind on a Spaceship Through Time, the dynamic duo of Raw Poetic and K-Murdock from the progressive Hip Hop group Panacea, set there spaceship on cruise control and chop it up with Patrick at the Bill Cosby approved, Ben's Chili Bowl in Washington, DC. Ben's Chili Bowl was packed and buzzing as I anticipated getting the gritty details on Panacea's new album while grubbing on Ben's gut busting chili cheese burgers and fries (with a half and half to wash it all down). Like the well crafted menu at Ben's, Panacea's sound is a crafty blend of musical genres and is inspired by the likes of Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Big Daddy Kane and A Tribe Called Quest. The sonic sound that is captured and flipped throughout their latest adventure can be surmised by listening to the album's lead single, "Treasure Hunt" which has already received much praise by their die hard fans and new listeners. Also worth taking a serious listen to is the track, "Orange Penicillin" which happens to be a favorite of mine. To find out more about Panacea and their latest album, A Mind on a Spaceship Through Time released on Tasteful Licks Records you can go to myspace.com/panaceanmusic or www.tastefullicks.com. And the next time you are in Washington, DC and get a craving for a chili cheese burger and fires stop by at Ben's Chili Bowl which is located at 1213 U St in North West Washington, DC. Both will satisfy your fix for quality music and food.
