What is your favorite color and what do you think it says about you?
My favorite color is black. I'm not really sure what it says about me... maybe that I'm mysterious and a bad ass!
What is the first work of art or design (painting, album cover, cereal box, etc.) that you remember having a significant impact on you?
I can remember being in first grade art class and my art teacher showing us Starry Night by Van Gogh. I just remember thinking it was the coolest painting ever. I think it definitely sparked my love for art. I also remember some of the children's books I had growing up... Where the Wild Things Are, Harold and the Purple Crayon and the Dr. Seuss books. Books all with great illustration. Thanks mom and dad for the awesome books!
Which designers, artists, or creative people do you look up to or are inspired by?
This might be generic but I'm inspired by people who are doing what they love and doing original stuff whether it be art, music or whatever. If I had to pick a style of art... I love Pop Art. One of my favorite Pop artists is Mel Ramos. He painted these beautiful pin-up girls with everyday things. Google Mel Ramos.
If you could single-handedly be responsible for creating a new genre of music, what would it be called and what would it sound like?
Apple-core. The genre would be called Apple-core and it would be the sickest thing ever. My band mates and I would take the stage with nothing but our MacBooks and our pre-recorded tracks. We'd plug in, hit play simultaneously and let the music flow. It'd sound like a pig getting hit by a truck with the smell of burnt hair lingering around in the air.
Who am I kidding... someone is probably already doing this.
What is your biggest design-related pet peeve?
Papyrus anywhere but pirate maps.
If you weren't a designer, would you rather be an insurance defense attorney, a worker at a meat packing plant, or a Polynesian fire dancer?
Polynesian fire dancer. 1) I'm an awesome dancer. 2) I'm a pyromaniac.
What was the first album you ever bought and did it have a lasting effect on you?
I believe one of the first albums I ever bought was Death Row's Greatest Hits. The album had a long lasting effect for sure. I wouldn't be the OG I am today if I hadn't bought that album in middle school.
What is your life anthem? (Seriously.)
Life anthem? Seriously? F**k the Pain Away by Peaches. Check it out.
What is the sexiest thing about Barack Obama?
The sexiest thing about Barack Obama is his teeth. His teeth are beautiful.
If you could see anyone of importance, dead or alive, wearing your t-shirt, who would it be?
Wow. Thats a good question. I'd have to say Kurt Russell. Kurt Russel is the man.
